3D Technology Checklist This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires: A DisplayFirst, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession. A SourceYour display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system. 3D Content3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game. 3D GlassesFor now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands. HDMI CableTo connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality. If you want to get more information about 3D, shop our 3D products, watch videos, or interact with other customers, we invite you to visit 3D 101, our customer center about everything 3D. Client more useful on 30 of 33 people found this review helpful. For Tacoloft great player he held for about a week before. I have read other reviews and have not seen or experienced one of the questions were the same with regard to the applications and the playability of the disc. However, there have been two firmware updates, I downloaded and installed automatically after the start - probably fixed the problems that others have seen. So far there has been a great player with a load applications faster and more pleasant. It interfaces well with my Samsung HDTV and have had nothing but good things with it. I have tried many different Bluray discs, including avatars and had no problems. I would recommend. (UPDATE 07/07/11) downgrade from 5 stars to 1. The player took a dump on me ... in general. A couple of Blu-ray is not playing well (or not). Mr. & Mrs. Smith had a constant image jute ring Knight and the day would give us an error saying that a software update is required by the manufacturer (had the latest firmware btw) I called Samsung customer support and they had me jump through any hoops to determine which there was something wrong with the player and they wanted me to send it to them for repair ect ... Instead I called the store where I bought and traded for Sony BX-58. It was a very good player, until it was. 24 of 28 people found the following review helpful. Honest Evaluation After three days of use by Leininger Lu I have this player from Amazon three days ago. There are certain characteristics of the product exceeds my expectations. 1.The reading Blu-ray is very fast. This is compared to the Panasonic DMP-DB60 Blu-ray that I had before. This is almost 10 times faster than the Panasonic DMP-DB60. I am very satisfied with their ability to quickly read. 2.Y You can connect a storage device to the USB port to this machine I originally thought were the USB ports for storage devices as a small flash drive or pen drive, like many former Blu-ray/DVD players. But after I tried to connect a 500GB external hard drive in it, all your media files on the disk quickly recognized by the player. The reading was fast. I was pleasantly surprised by this. 3.Besides its high quality video output, audio output is also very powerful. I connect the reader to my "Logitech Z-5500 THX-certified Speaker System 5.1 Digital Surround Sound," which is the best sound system for PC, which I have had so far (maybe the best on the market). The sound is much more powerful if the PC output is used. I had to adjust the volume to 1 / 3 of the normal level, so that the wall did not shake too much. 4.It plays many video formats, and supports many codecs. It is the first player to play MKV video file Blu-Ray/DVD I have seen in the U.S. Please note to have subtitles in a video file to be read by machine, you must make sure the filename of the subtitle (with. sub or srt. ) should be the same as the name of the video file. I did not do before. Then I tried to play various video files, I found myself that made me more happy with this product. I changed my rating from four stars to five stars. I bought this player along with "Samsung LED TV UN55D7000" that has several USB ports on your own. After a few days of use, I realized that the USB capabilities of Blu-television and overlap. But even I was impressed by the new technology. 23 of 27 people found this review helpful. Samsung lawsuit by Sidney L. Andrew is good: Plays the contents of the Quick Boot advertises it look sleek and have the latest collection of apps Samsung Bad: Not sure if that's because it is new, but Hulu and Netflix Plus apps come uncontrollably I made this player an excellent first Samsung model to replace it never had this problem. It is so bad that a video was 10-15 minutes without sound or go out of sync. Sometimes the video in slow motion.

Customers most helpful reviews 27 of 29 people found this review helpful. Ok to play BluRay, poor networking capabilities of A. Yalowitz I bought this camera quite well on a whim. Since it is so new, I have not found much in terms of comments. It plays Blu-Ray fine (my old Toshiba was about a hit or miss in this regard), but the functionality of the network is low. I've been with Netflix on my Xbox 360, but tired of high annual fee to Xbox Live wanted a player with Netflix support. Compared to the Xbox 360, Netflix interface on the Sony is a joke ... Only gives instant access to the queue ... that's all. No need to look at, not played recently, not recommendations. There are indications in some of the menu functions that more might come in future versions of the firmware, but who knows. Another feature I wanted was to stream from my home network. I tried to connect to Windows Center (7) and then XBMC Media. Over 80% of my videos would not show up or will not play - are all AVI files encoded in various formats like XviD, DivX same was the case with files stored on a USB flash drive - they just do not ' t game as "corrupted". Have not tried the other online apps that Hulu, Pandora. One thing about this player, I really think the Android app for the remote. Easy to install, worked like a charm. I will probably return this unit within the next few days. 10 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Netflix does not work, James Groleau This device works well for Pandora, Hulu +, etc., but the Netflix streaming is terribly painful. All HD video is constantly pause to wait to download. I do not experience this problem on two computers connected to the same Ethernet switch. My internet connection over 7Mbps. This device just does not work for HD video from Netflix. 9 of 10 people found this review helpful. Very good Blu-Ray, Netflix and YouTube, but needs improvement By William My biggest beef is the BDP S480 is that of Netflix. It should be like the PS3 version. Youtube needs more control to users. Both Netflix and YouTube are very limited. Hopefully Sony will fix these problems soon. See all 17 customer reviews ....

Most helpful customer reviews 61 of 66 people found the following review helpful. NSZ-GT1 is not as bad as some people believe James Smith, I do not often write reviews for products. But in the case of Sony NSZ-GT1 GoogleTV Blu-Ray player, I decided to do it. The many one-star, bad reviews for this product almost convinced me not to buy in favor of Logitech REVUE if I could have bought instead. GT1 I saw at Best Buy but bought it from Amazon because of a better price. At my local Best Buy, no one knew how to display the work ethic. Almost changed his mind. I went to another, larger Best Buy across town where they have a working GT1 by the sales man to beat and then let me play. So, to review. The Geek Squad guy came and installed a new Yamaha receiver and 55 "Sony TV. Had I been a home theater setup you when we built our house as Geek guy was just to replace old equipment. If this is not a review of the Geek Squad, the guys do a great job and gave my wife instructions on how to use all new equipment, when he was gone, we got a little bit about our following and after an hour or so started the hang of it. While the GT1 is not without warts. It takes a little getting used to, after which it is a pretty slick little device. The PDR is a Blu Ray for me (not my main target). While my new Sony TV's "connected to the Internet," I need a Blu-Ray for Netflix, which allows GT1, etc. In addition, not only a DVD / Blu Ray. The real bonus is that it allows me to surf the Internet. All in all, it fits in my home theater surround sound. [In fact, the geek guys my sound system works better than ever.] CONS for the GT1, the small size of the controller and the keys on the keyboard and my finger tips 70 years old are large and blunt. The manual that comes with it is practically non-existent. It would have been a real task, while the type of home Geek Even after his departure, had some questions he did not touch it and not explained in the "manual". I went to the Sony line "tab", where I have a phone number I contacted a man who easily explains the solution. There is a FN key in the driver you need to be used in combination with other keys, which is not labeled, or explained in the manual. Once I saw him, I understood more about the driver. The type of help from Sony was excellent. So I'm giving this device a rating of four to counter the negative criticism. It seems that some of these people had an ax to grind SONY or were too impatient to try to work with bugs. I like the team and have no problems recommending it. It is undoubtedly improve as it evolves. 18 of 18 people found this review helpful. I'm in love! By Kelly Jordan Wow, I was so surprised to see the 6 negative comments about this product. Seems like they focused on one topic and only negatively, that without looking really, what can this product do this, I give you all my advantages and disadvantages, so you can decide what set correctly for you. First I went to a Blu-ray player with Wi-Fi to buy. Why? I wanted to get Netflix in my bedroom and I wanted to be able to play DVDs. I knew I was looking to spend around $ 200 I went through this in the store and gave it a whirl and was impressed. The menus are not confusing if you have a smart phone with apps. It's almost like the set. Even the keyboard is reminiscent of my android phone. Then I found out it was not so much more money for these decent Internet connection as a blu-ray. I bought it and took it home. I wanted my husband to come home and wait for you close it, but I was too excited, so I gave it a go. I followed the easy start guide in the box and I had everything up and running in about 15 minutes. Well, it was impressive.

More useful customer on 85 of 87 people found this review helpful. A worthy successor to the BDP-S370 from Peter I just bought two of these - one for me and one for an out-of-state friend. I use mine with a flat screen Sony Bravia 1080p, my friend uses it with an old 30-inch CRT TV (4:3) until he gets around to taking it out of his flat-screen box. I was thinking about getting a unit with built-in WiFi, but before you make your purchase (s), I did some research online and heard (read) some horror stories about streaming via Wi-Fi has been, say, a little 'less than complementary ( glitches, outages, crashes requiring a reboot, etc.), so I decided to buy this product because it does not have WiFi (why pay for a feature that I'm not going to use?). I have a Sony BDP-S370 (with a Samsung flat screen) and love it, I would have bought two of them, but they were not directly from Amazon when I ordered, so I found them - I prefer to buy from Amazon for their return also supports the BDP-S380 "Vudu" and has a on-screen digital display of flow rate (in Mbps), when the streaming appears is the start - both welcome additions! My setup took about 15 minutes of the hour, I opened the box, until I looked hard, Amazon VOD, Netflix, and (I only put in force to this day). I have the BDP-S380 on my TV via HDMI, and my local network via an Ethernet cable and simply prepared (of course I had to configure it to my Amazon and Netflix accounts, but who had less than five minutes). After going through the menus on the screen quickly, the unit told me that there was a firmware update available, so I told him to do, and few minutes later, he completed and off (normal when you update the firmware ) My friend took some configuration 'more because they had never implemented one before and I did not see what was happening when I' ve tried to talk him through all (of memory). E 'connected to the TV using the USB cable (included-in-the-box) AV. Because his TV was 4:3, some menus are not displayed clearly, which is probably what he has done a little 'longer. In any case, we have everything working properly in about 20-25 minutes. One thing to note, I want to mention is this: all BD players manufactured after 1/1/2011 DRM firmware that prevents any other HD signals using HDMI output. For me it was no problem because I use HDMI because my friend was with first, everything shown on TV in SD (not really a problem, because that is all that can show anyway, and to use HDMI if you set your flat * : ^) I am very pleased with this unit (and is). The results are clear and solid, is its simple user interface, or forward and easy to understand, and their physical size, shape and appearance to fit in anywhere. Definitely a 5 star unit. ====== NOTE Netflix (15/04/11): It seems that Netflix no longer limited to the choices Cola now! Now there is a checkbox labeled "Top Picks For You" - And now you can press the "Options" from the remote control when you select "Categories>" will be presented with a list of categories you can browse and select movies! Yay! 29 of 31 people found this review helpful. Big Blu-ray player, but the streaming needs help from Ryan, I bought this product to an older Blu-ray struggles commuinicating my receiver to replace, was the first gene and could not wait, but it had a few bugs. Until now, the discs that are awsome, the sound and picture quality is not better. The charging time is much quicker than older players. If you are looking for streaming, I think we should give these guys a few years to work out bugs. Before I bought this I bought the best ranked top of the line model that was supposed to be the best in streaming and I was disappointed. So I.

Most Helpful 291 of 313 people found this review helpful. A good unit, but some network problems with odd N. Porter [This is a long review of the guaranteed number of functions in the BDP-S580. I will try to give as much relevant information as I can in an attempt to make it as useful as possible. If you want a line "This is great" review, I apologize, but some people like the details:) I know you do]. IMPORTANT: I have added several upgrades and changes over time to keep this review up to date. Be sure to check them for showing the problems I had earlier resolutions. I usually sit in the problems in the initial review, followed by a change with a resolution, so that other people are running the same problem will be able to find answers. Some background ... This was purchased to replace an old Sharp HP20U Blu-Ray and some of the characteristics of a network plays Dlink DSM-520 media. Then they also own the Sony BDP-S570 (the model before the S580), for a brief period as an attempt to replace the first, I decided to go back and get the new BDP-S580, however, in the hope that we may correct or improve a lot of flaws in 570 DLNA Let me say in advance that I like about this unit, but have some concerns. I am using wired Gigabit LAN with over CAT6, although this device has only a 100M Ethernet connection, and use the fastest service available where usually get 15-28 Charter Mbps download speeds at any given time. I am using HDMI through a receiver to a 1080p Sharp. First the good ... 1) Blu-ray load times are much faster than many other devices on the market. It 'was one of the main points I wanted to achieve with the camera. In fact, the BDP-S570 first release is still one of the fastest charger CNET ever, even with the "Quick Start" off, which is comparable. I recommend leaving the option of rapid onset was generally in order to save energy, the monetary cost of maintaining the device in a kind of startup mode, not worth it if the player can start very quickly for everyone, however, upload speed test, I used the "Avatar", BD, the worst manager a long shot of the discs I have. Avator took more than five minutes to get to the main menu screen on my old Sharp, Sony, and you get to the main menu of about 2 minutes and 50 seconds. That still is not fast, but remember that this is the worst manager I've ever seen. BD, as "Master and Commander," "Cars" or "300" We all have that within their menus around 30 seconds, and reach the main menu, I mean I had to go through all the warnings of rights FBI copyright, etc. 2) The unit is silent when playing a disc. It is silent, but seems better than the S570 and much better than the old Sharp. Note that when you leave a disc while using other features of the S580, you still have a bit of noise, as if always ready to maintain the database, I guess this is not a bad idea for a quick start when you select the BD of the menu system. 3) The BDP-S580 uses the standard Sony xdb interface that can be found on PS3, PSP, etc. I like but others do not. In my opinion, fast, clean, easy to navigate, and this particular device seems to respond very quickly when you scroll through the icons / options (some have seemed slower). 4) I had no problems with buffering, stutter or pause the video when playing online. I Amazon Instant Video, YouTube, YouTube, Hulu and HD Video Plus free to try. There is no problem to play online audio, either with Pandora, NPR, Slacker. But, see notes below about "bad" part that relates to actually get the transmission to begin ... 5) The recorded DLNA is good and the interface is fast and responsive. Plays much faster than the Dlink DSM-520 All files are good so far and counting. Wma and. Mp3 formats. Note that this comment is in reference to audio files, see "bad" part of my thoughts on video files through DLNA ....
