I was skeptical - now I am a believer By Marianne Fletcher As Vizio products had the reputation for being the 'WalMart' of electronics, I was skeptical to try this router. I did some homework and found that others who had tried it were Very satisfied with it's performance. What better endorsement than that of a fellow user? So, since the price was Half that of the Cisco comparable - why not give it a shot. I had been using a Netgear wireless G and was having no problems. When I added a Sony HD TV and BluRay player, set up for wireless -- I began to have some stalls and 'waiting to catch up' times - especially on Netflix HD feeds. This Vizio dedicated the to 5.4 band Just for the HD video feed and has performed better than I Ever hoped. Set-up was Out of the Box to Working in less than 10 mins. The interface is Easy to use. All my devices (3 PCs - 2 iTouch - and a Sony Dock - in addition to the TV) recognized and accepted the device immediately. I would buy one again, and definitly recommend this to anyone wanting to watch HD streaming TV. 19 of 19 people found the following review helpful. Very good router ! By Val This router replaced D-Link DIR-655 and right away I stopped loosing connection once every 20 min or so. Set up was a breeze. Also coverage is greater since my Samsung led tv has no problem connect to it and stay connected . 20 of 21 people found the following review helpful. Easy set up, good price, vizo hits a home run. By Charles R. Crosby Jr. This was the easiest router I've ever set up. The directions are simple to follow. The entire directions are step by step in big letters and have good digrams/pictures to help you along and its only two laminated cards 5x10 inches. It seems that Vizo made it for the common guy with not alot of computer knowlege. I was up and running in about ten minutes (install, laptop, 2 PS3's and Itouch). Not a computer geek, but it broadcast in 802.11 a/h, 802.11g/n and 802.11b. My laptop, itouch and PS3 immediatley reconized the 802.11g/n and took the security key (WPA) that was given with the setup paperwork and is operating at 2.4HGz. There's three security keys given with the directions, so if your device reconizes the router, you can just input a key until the right one is input. I belive that the 802.11a/h (WPA2 security key) would only work for new faster devices. Again, this was easy to set up and is faster than my old router. I could only imagine how fast it is if I had a device that worked on the 802.11a/h signal (5GHz). I would definatley buy this product again. I test ran an HD movie using Netflix on my PS3 via the wirless connection and it downloaded the movie very nicely. My old router was basically usless for Netflix via a wireless connection becasue of it slow speed. Vizo hit it out of the park with this one and its well under one hundred dollars. I will definatley get one and install it at my girlfreinds house. See all 107 customer reviews...

Then, since I had auto firmware updates on, The firmware updated to the current version (1010.4). No problem. Then a day later auto updates ran again. This time updating to version 1015.2 (which is not listed for this product). I have been having problems ever since. Every time I would turn on the player, I would get an error stating "Model Information in your upgrade file does not match with your player. Please check and retry". Everything I would try to do would pop up this error. So I had to disable auto firmware updates to be able to do anything. Now, when I insert a DVD, the player will eject it at least three times before it successfully reads it. When I try to connect to Netflix, it freezes. I have to power off and power on and try connecting again. This happens anywhere between 3 and 10 times in a row before it will work. When I do finally connect to Netflix, the player asks if I have a Netflix account and makes me "authorize" the player for the millionth time. Then sometimes, the player freezes when I am scrolling through my queue. I have tried to use a usb flash drive to update the firmware to the current version of 1010.4 but the player does not let me. Probably because the version on my player (1015.2) is supposedly after 1010.4. Now, onto Samsung's technical support....After about a month I got fed up and decided to try to get this problem figured out. I called 1-800-SAMSUNG. Jumped through their hoops to get to the right person. I explain the problems I am having with the firmware. They tell me that the error message I am receiving when trying to update firmware is "because their server is busy" and to try again later. I told them I did not believe that their server was busy for a month. So they tell me to fix the problem "disable auto updates". I told them I already had and that is by no means a fix. I had to repeatedly tell them that the firmware in my player did not match what was on their website to get them to believe that anything was wrong. So they escalated me to Level 2 support and tell me I will receive a call in 24-48 hours. Three days later still no call from Level 2 support. I call back, jump through hoops, give my reference # and the person tries to help me. I told them I did not want to talk to them, that I was escalated to Level 2 support and would only talk to them. They connect me to Level 2. I tell them the problem. They tell me that the reason I am getting that error is because the server is busy. (I am thinking to myself "Do these people think I am an idiot?") They tell me to try a USB update. I already tried that. After more useless conversation, they escalate me to a "Product Specialist" and tell me I will receive a call back in 24-48 hours. One week later, I find myself calling Samsung back because I have still not heard from their product specialist. They tell me that there is not one available for me to speak with and they will have one call me back in 24-48 hours. I'm not holding my breath. Everyone I spoke with at technical support was arrogant and would talk right over me. Luckily I am pretty tech savvy so I know to call their B.S. when they try to give me a fix like "just turn auto updates off". So my advice is if you buy this product, turn auto updates off as soon as possible, but better yet don't buy it. I got suckered in because of the wall mountable feature. I have had bad luck with Samsung players in the past so luckily I purchased an extended warranty on this one. So if tech support fails me, I can fall back on that. UPDATE: After several more calls to technical support, they agreed to ship the unit to them for them to repair. Have not received it back yet. I tried to submit a review on Samsung's website several times. Every time, I get an e-mail a couple of days later saying that they could not post my

Very unexpected from Sharp. I got mine on a sale new for less than seventy bucks but its STILL not worth the aggravation and I took it back, I was happy even to pay the restocking fee. There is no comparison to my PS3 or the Sony DBP-S370 which I would totally recommend over this by a long way - please see my review on that item. Good points, the box it came in was the high point (!), looks nice under my TV, smallish device, streams Netflix 'ok' (although on the current firmware unable to search). Bad points, cheap construction over all once you hold it, a LCD display that so 1980's, a stupid flashing blue circle on the front (again very 1980's), takes many minutes (1-2 min) to load a bluray disc, I couldn't get Harry Potter and the Half Blood price to even load (even with recommended 2gb pendrive plugged in the back). Menus are awful. Really feels like a third rate device. I would have expected better from Sharp, their LCD TVs that carry the same Aquos name are in a different league. I personally would stay away from this particular item. It won't make a good gift (unless you don't like the person, then it will give many hours of frustration). 13 of 14 people found the following review helpful. Firmware is important By Michael from San Diego I just bought this player on sale for 99 bucks. I was a bit nervous because of all the horrendous reviews. However, all worked fine for me. It seems when the unit was new it was pretty buggy. [...] Our unit has an (A) appended to the model ID, this appears to be because many of the firmware updates were included with this model; notice on sharp webpage I linked to the update is only for the original model, and we had no problems whatsoever with NetFlix. If you can get this for as cheap as we did, I would say it is a great deal! I have a Sharp HDTV and the TV remote worked on the DVD player with no configuration which was nice. 13 of 14 people found the following review helpful. worse value than sea monkeys By J. Milbrandt yep....this product can only be compared to sea monkeys in the "promise and deliver" department. Consistant errors in reading Bluray discs and Netflix streaming. Worst of all if you use this for Netflix odds are you'll need to go buy a 2GB thumb drive to update the latest firmwear applications (required by to play Netflix instant) or you'll be without Netflix. I've had this for 2 months and it's ruined more movie nights than it's created. This is a massive pile of fail! See all 20 customer reviews...

Lowenberg Little background on me: I owned or have owned a BH100, BH200, BD300, BD370 and BD390. So pretty much every LG Blu-ray player except the 270. Pros: Fast - I noticed DVD and Blu-ray loaded just a wee bit faster than my LG BD390. The difference wasn't amazing, but maybe a few seconds. VuDu, Netflix, Pandora etc - They work just as they should. VuDu is identical to that on the BD390, but Netflix is the new version that allows you to view new movies/TV to Instant, has Genres, collections etc. No, it's not EVERYTHING that [...] offers, but you probably have a rotating selection of 300 different programs to check out if you don't feel like breaking out the laptop. GracieNotes - Wow. Freakin' awesome. I managed to pull song information from a DVD, BD and a 'movie' file. As an added bonus; Hit the Display button while watching something (I assume DVD/BD only) and at the very bottom is 'Movie Information'. Click it and it will tell you what you are watching (small picture), synopsis, actor names etc. Woah! 250GB HD - Big selling point and works well. You are able to copy directly from an external HD/USB to the intern HD or via WiFi. Your choice. Obviously a wired copy will be faster than WiFi, so I set mine to copy 100GB from my external HD and went to bed. Woke up, and watched some stuff. Works very well and was fast. Maybe it can be upgraded? Out of the box it had 246GB out of 250GB available. So everything else is stored on internal memory. I bet this can be upped... WiFi - Faster. Before, VuDu was a bit choppy, but now it was perfect. DNLA - Works fine on my MacBook (some had issues?) Cons: Pandora - Ok, it's great to finally get this, but why can't I assume the colored buttons to be an easy Thumb Up, zzzz, Thumbs Down, Bookmark? Seems like it would be much easier, but the colored buttons do other things in Pandora. Feels like a wasted opportunity. Music on HD - Well, it won't play iTunes DMR files or ones in m4a format (iTunes automatically converts them this way when you rip from CD unless you tell it not to). I spent 2 hours converting everything in my library to .mp3 so I could import them. Funny thing is, it actually imports the folder name, but none of the tracks. Took me a while to figure out why it skipped several CDs (I did 10 right away). Size - Why is this bigger? I get it has a 250GB HD inside, but those are the size of an iPhone and the back of the units reeks of being a Gen2 unit and not a Gen5 version. Menu - Sigh. All of the online stuff is in the Netcast icon, which means you have to click it, wait for it to load, and then you get presented with Netflix, VuDu etc. An extra step, but c'mon, there is a ton of room on that menu screen. Which is now redesigned to look like animated Ice Cubes in a pool. Odd choice... Picture Settings - Remember how the BD390 could allow you to add/remove Edge Enhancement, DNR etc. That's gone. I even tried using my BD390 remote and the player didn't do anything. WTF? This is the top of the line player (out of 3 now!) and this was removed? Update: FIXED! The Picture Setting Menu is now found when you hit 'Display' during a movie. There are as many options as the BD390, but its better than none. USB - Really, under a trap door? I get that some people may not want to pull their gear out to plug in a USB dogle, but get a $2 extension. Thankfully, with the Internal HD, I'll never use it. Meh: Remote - I don't hate it...but I like the BD590. I'll never use the numbers, so I would prefer them to be hidden in a trap door so I would have less to look at. The Center and arrow keys do feel better, and the Power button is HUGE compared to the identical sized Power/Eject of the previous. The Play/Pause/Skip are clear white...not sure why. They don't glow. So confused. DVD Upconversion - Looks about the same. 116 of 120 people found the

I have only experienced one glitch during operation that required stopping and restarting a movie. I have been using a PS3 and I never experienced a glitch like that. I was a bit disappointed with the networking capability. It does not work with my TVersity server. It sees the files (both audio and video) but can't play any of them them. I hope that firmware updates allow for a wider range of file types. Still all in all I like the styling, small size, low power and is very quiet. 12 of 13 people found the following review helpful. Very Satisfied!! By msong Good quaility blue ray player, easy setup and automiatically updates when connected to the internet. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. great first player By RICHARD GUZMAN This is my first blu ray and ii is awesome. It has so many features and settings to get it just where you want it. From other reviews i have read, all they have to say is, "..This blu ray player sucks because it doesn't have the same things this other player has......this is not the best player." Well its not.... but for 100 dollars...its a steal. the reasons this blu ray isn't worth a few hundred to a thousand dollars is because: the wireless is not completely wireless, its has a port on the back that needs an wireless adapter to make it wireless ready. This adapter is around 50 dollars, soo... that sucks but its my first player so i don't really care. I realized after I found out about this review, that computers can get on the internet and that blu rays do not have to be on the internet too. LOL Second, Samsung lacked to include a few features on this player, i do not know if it was on purpose for the price but i do not know. if your watching a movie and decide to change a setting on your blu ray and click play again you will find yourself at the very beginning of the previews. Weird i know. Lastly, the player spins a little loud for certain dvd's. I have noticed it more on regular dvd's than blu ray movies. this is still a great blu ray to me. these little things are a bother but for these three things that can easily be avoided, probaly saved me 400 dollars in extra cost to have these features added and problems fixed. At the time of my current purchase (yes, current purchase - I'll explain that later), the unit was $420 and is worth every penny (it's almost $100 less now, so there's really no excuse for anyone to not pick it up). For that price, you get a very good Blu-ray player, decent speakers (I'll get to that later too), and the ability to do all kinds of streaming to the device using either an Ethernet cable or the device's built in Wireless N certified antenna. The main reason I wanted this particular unit was two-fold. One, it is the only decent Home Theater System that has built-in DivX HD support, which means that it has the ability to play pretty much all types of media (MKV, AVI, DivX, MP4, MPG, etc...) off of a USB or from your home server. This was crucial. This Blu-ray home theater system also just so happened to match the design of my LG 42LH40 1080p 120hz LCD HDTV (seen here: http://www.amazon.com/LG-42LH40-42-Inch-1080p-120Hz/dp/B001VJHWTQ - AMAZING television as soon as you turn off the 'TruMotion' feature). So, this Home Theater System matched my needs. This was my first Blu-ray player, but I didn't even really get it for that. I mainly wanted to be able to stream all kinds of media to something in my living room that could also playback my DVDs and eventual Blu-rays. My Xbox 360 can handle all of my media, but that's in the bedroom. I needed something decent for the living room, and something to take advantage of my beautiful TV. So, after getting this system, I tried some Blu-rays out - and WOW! I've since bought almost 50 titles on Blu-ray. The picture and sound is amazing - but I'll get to that later! I've mentioned "current purchase" and "first purchase" in this review so let me explain that. This device originally had a manufacturing defect which caused a loud high pitch whistle sound (sounded like a tea kettle) to emit from the front right, rear right, and sometimes the center speaker. I was the first to document this online, and I did it on the Amazon message board on this very page. I also replied to several reviewers on this and the page for the LG LHB335 device. Others mentioned this problem on various websites (I'm not going to plug them here in my review), so trust me, this was a big problem. On top of that, I was in constant contact with the head of LG's Quality Assurance team. After talking to him about the issue, he admitted it existed and promised to find a fix. I grew impatient and saw the price for this device drop (around $80 from what I originally purchased it for) so I decided to return it and thought I would re-buy it at a cheaper price once he assured me a fix was found. Well, a fix was found. I re-purchased the device and it's working flawlessly. The fixed ones are manufactured June 2010 and later. If you purchase it and the manufacturing date is before June 2010, you will have the whistle sound. So, back to the review. There have been some firmware updates lately that added some new features (DivX TV - which is awesome, MLB TV, and Napster), so make sure the first thing you do when you get the device is to update the firmware. It's also good to do a factory reset the first time you do that just in case (me and at least one other person have noticed a bug that was solved when we did that - but it's possible that the bug would have been fixed with the firmware update that was released a few days after that - I don't know). It's also a good idea to go into the speaker settings and adjust the speaker distance (the amount of feet between each speaker and your usual listening position). Now, this device came with rather short speaker wires (probably the shortest out of any Home Theater System I've ever purchased). This was solved with less than $10 and a quick trip to Radio Shack. I'm glad the speaker connections aren't proprietary like some other

3D Technology Checklist This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires: A DisplayFirst, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession. A SourceYour display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system. 3D Content3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game. 3D GlassesFor now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands. HDMI CableTo connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality. If you want to get more information about 3D, shop our 3D products, watch videos, or interact with other customers, we invite you to visit 3D 101, our customer center about everything 3D. Internet-Ready Television Internet-ready TVs use your broadband connection to deliver dynamic content, whether it's streaming video from Netflix, new music from Pandora, or a quick glance at today's weather forecast. Although there is overlap, each manufacturer offers a unique bundle of free or paid services, including streaming video and music, social networking apps, online photo galleries, news and financial updates, weather info, sports scores, and a variety of other smartphone-like applications. Manufacturers continue to add new content to their offerings, keeping customers current through firmware updates, and making a bit of research a prudent step in your buying decision. Sony Bravia KDL-32EX720 By Ninjawithagun I recently purchased the Sony Bravia EX720 from a local electronics store (and not Amazon, since I prefer to make large electronic purchases locally in the event I need to quickly return and exchange a defective item). Overall, the TV is good, but not great. Here is a quick down and dirty list of "in my opinion (IMO)" pros and cons: Pros: - High quality LED side-lit LCD screen - True 1080P 3D and Hi-definition capable, but with some limitations - Colors and contrast are vibrant, once you take the time to manually adjust the picture settings - Built-in 3D transmitter; no need to buy the external transmitter which saves you about $35 - 3D effects are very good overall, but best results can only be attained by watching 3D Blu Ray movies - Artifical 3D option in the 3D options works decently and provides an alternative to playing PC games in 3D without having to use the NVidia 3D Vision or 3DTV Play drivers; this allows you to maintain up to 60fps frame rates without have to revert to a 24hz (24fps) refresh rate - No 3D ghosting evident, but you may need to make manual adjustments to the depth effect - I needed to do this - 4 x HDMI 1.4 ports - Internet capable right out of the box - Swivel and 6 degree backward tilt adjustable - Directly compatible with the Sony PS3 (shouldn't be a surprise since it is a Sony TV) - TV firmware can be updated, but does require internet connectivity - Weight of TV is 25lbs - very light and easy to move or mount on wall without worry of mounting screws tearing out of the studs in the wall! - Shortcut keys on the Remote are very convenient and will save you time from having to dig down into the sub-menus everytime just to make adjustments to certain functions Cons: - NOT a 240hz 3D TV; Sony.com website lists the specifications for this model as "120hz" refresh rate (AMAZON NEEDS TO FIX THE LISTED DESCRIPTION FOR THIS TV NOW!) - Had to contact Sony customer support directly to verify which Sony 3D glasses model is compatible with the KDL-32EX720; their website did not provide this information; confirmed with the tech rep that the TDGBR100/B version is compatible with the KDL-32EX720; important to note the "B" Think of it as the "B" represents "Bravia" :) - 3D viewing @ 1080P limited to only 24hz and 30hz?? 24hz = 24fps & 30hz = 30fps That's not a problem for watching 3D Blu Ray movies (or watching converted 2D movies into 3D), but is not acceptable if you want to play computer games on this TV; part of the reason why I bought it - Takes a few hours to manually adjust the picture just the way you want it; you will need to go into the "Advanced Settings" to change things like White Balance, Black Level correction, Edge enhancement, etc. - Priced a bit high for not having 3D glasses included or a 240hz refresh rate; WARNING! The glasses cost $150 separately O.o - Power cord is hard-wired into the TV; would have preferred a universal power cord solution so that it could be replaced easily should it get damaged - Remote control is a bit clunky and large and does not provide universal remote functionality as it only allows for control of the TV; unlike other remotes that allow you to conrol several devices - a universal remote function would have been nice for me because I could have used the remote to control both the TV and my Sony PS3; not sure why Sony would not allow for this other than to make more money from their customers...no way! lol BOTTOMLINE: Depending on your intentions of what the primary use of this TV is/are will ultimately determine your final decision to buy it or not. If you plan to watch regular and 3D Blu Ray movies and like the convenience of the integrated internet functionality, then this TV is a good choice, albeit a bit expensive when considering you have to pay $150 more for the 3D glasses. The picture quality when watching Blu Ray movies is excellent and

Yamaha releases what might be the successor to the JVC XV-BP1 By WDH Unfortunately, JVC never released a direct successor to the XV BP1. Instead, the released the low budget profile 1.1 XV BP11 destined for closeout pricing at Sam's Club. Nearly 16 months after the JVC's release, I think I have found its successor, but strangely enough it's hidden behind a Yamaha label. Prior Yamaha blu ray players (1065, 1900) were Sharp-based players that lacked any real redeeming quality save an opportunity for Yamaha receiver owners to have some commonality in their rack. Upon reading the press releases of the 667, a few things caught my eye - that worrying quick start feature was dropped and the inclusion of dlna made me wonder whose format the player was based. It did not appear to be Sharp-based (unlike the new Pioneer releases) and also lacked the usual Funai or LG look and layout that is generally easy to spot. The 667 arrived Thursday afternoon and I have been pushing this unit through an abnormally high number of tests. Its GUI, OSD, and setup menu were very familiar in that they struck me as very similar to my Oppo 83 and 80. The initial setup and overlain setup menu were different in look and lacked a number of options the Oppos have, but had an overwhelming Oppo-esque familiarity to them. The center-mounted disc drive is a bit pokey, opening in 10-12 seconds (very similar to the Oppp 83 EAP first-run drives), but load times were very fast and were only outpaced by the newest Samsung models. Upon checking synthetic deinterlacing tests, I knew we had found the very competent Mediatek chipset. In fact, its synthetic deinterlacing tests for film cadence matched the Oppo BDP-80 identically. Unfortunately, its video deinterlacing was not quite up to par with the Oppo BDP-80. Real world DVD testing revealed a very competent player that could not quite match the Pioneer BDP-320's sharpness or the Oppo's accuracy in avoiding aliasing, but was damn close. The player's biggest deficiency is a lack of fine tuned noise reduction to bring a more detailed edge to the image. That said, the player is very versatile and offers the same smooth, accurate image other mediatek chipped players produce. The player offers a zoom function for dvds that is effective and similar to that offered in the Oppo 80, but a bit different in its gradients. In respects of analogue audio, the 667 offers only stereo outputs that are adequate, but not inspiring in my testing. Moreover, it does not offer SACD or DVD-A playback like the Oppo (or even the Sony 470 for the former), but it does offer DLNA connectivity and Netflix streaming. So why is this the next JVC XV-BP1? While its $329 MSRP is a bit stiff, it is currently heavily discounted and available for $250 in its second week of release. Should price pressure continue and it sells below $200, this might become my recommended entry-level player now that the Pioneer BDP-320 is scarce if not gone. It maintains the high quality dvd playback and speed very similar to the XV BP1, but with more modern features like DLNA and Netflix (yes, I know LG has had streaming for almost three years!). That said, prices have dropped considerably and arguing relative value is more and more difficult. The $250 mark is heavily competitive and you have older, discontinued models being closed at slightly higher prices (denon dbp-2010ci comes to mind). That said, with just a little more price pressure this player is ideal for folks looking for Netflix streaming, very fast disc loading times, DLNA connectivity and very good dvd playback. There are a number of players that give you more bells and whistles at a lower price (Sony BDP-S470 and LG BD570), but they cannot quite offer the dvd playback this mediatek chipped player offers. Highly Recommended at under $200; Worth Considering at $225. 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Fast player with

The receiver have 0 Hdmi inputs so if your planning to connect more devices to use the surround sound then you will end up using Toslink cables. I am happy with my purchase and if this receiver had 2 or more Hdmi inputs then 5 stars across the board. If you want the rear wireless speakers to be wireless the Wireless transmitter are sold seperatly if that is a deal breaker or not. great sound, deep base. So far loving it despite the lack of Hdmi inputs. 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful. All-in-One 3d Blue Ray Home Theater System By 06ajtayl This product is designed and functions very well! The look of the product is very black and glossy, giving a clean and modern feel. I bought this item for the HDMI Auido return Channel, which after a little messing around with works great!! One cable from the TV to the Reciever gives sound from stereo for all items hooked to the TV or visa versa. No clutter!! (Must use HDMI v1.4 plugs and cables in order to get ARC functionality, my bad). When hooked to a CEC, Anynet+, or compatible DNLA devise through HDMI this unit auto sync's all functions to TV, ie. put in a blue ray, tv turns itself on, turns to the correct input, and starts up the movie. Also, comes with an ipod dock which charges the Ipod, WHEN THE STEREO IS ON (be better if it charged all the time) but gives great control over sound thought IPod's controls OR through the TV, I like searching through songs on the TV through the Ipod better. Th touch controls are super cool and eliminate the look of buttons (kinda like a dishwasher with no buttons on the front) However, have accidently bumped up against controls and turn the unit on or off a few times. So, not so good if in the reach of small children, but should have a 3d blue ray player in the reach of children anyway. Paid $299.00 free shipping no tax through Amazon, cheapest anywhere. All other places $379.00 at best. I would buy again in a heart beat from amazon, customer service is A+. Really when they mean no hassle returns, they are for real. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Everything In One By Legnadibrom All you need in one system, just connect it to a TV and you're all set for a great home theater experience. I use this with a 46 inch Samsung LCD TV that I purchased a few weeks before this system. Initially I chose the TV because it has DLNA media sharing capabilities so I can stream all my shows and movies from my computer in my bedroom out to my comfy recliner in the living room. Then I tried watching a DVD on that TV with an old Sony player from 2004 to not very good results. So I decided to upgrade to Blu-Ray and went with this all-in-one package. Without disappointment. I stayed in the same brand family mainly because the TV was really great, plus the DLNA feature that Samsung implements in their Smart-devices is the future of media sharing and Samsung seems to be one of the only big brands to embrace the technology. Samsung's Anynet feature is also a great reason for getting a TV and player within this family because it simplifies quality settings, amongst other things like turning on/off with each other. As far as all the good things go - the picture looks great, both DVDs and Blu-rays look awesome and after some tweaking with the sound settings I have a healthy dose of bass and clear mid and high range. The audio setup wizard worked well with the detection mic and you can then adjust distance and volume for each speaker as desired...I pumped the subwoofer all the way up. 5.1 sound from Blu-rays is satisfying and the "3D" sound set on HIGH recreates surround sound for downloaded TV shows and movies streaming from my computer through DLNA,

GREAT blu-ray player By Go Terps I've only had this player for about a week or so, but it has exceeded my expectations. I was a little skeptical to buy it from the SonyStyle website before I could read any user reviews or see the rating on Cnet, let alone find it anywhere else for sale. However, it was worth the risk. Here are a few things that stand out: 1) blu-ray content looks amazing 2) looks good, is easy to use (remote and exterior controls) 3) amazing built-in capabilities: built in Wifi is smooth, Netflix, Pandora, and the amazing Berlin Phil Digital Music Hall 4) Set-up of wifi is very easy...you are guided right through After one week, I have zero complaints and give it the highest recommendation. ps--I don't even use the 3D capability and don't care, so I can't comment on that 73 of 82 people found the following review helpful. Great All Around Player, but .... By Jeremy A Edson I have been nothing but impressed with the quality of the BDP-S770. It is a fantastic Blu-ray, Netflix, Amazon, and Qriocity media playing device. It has just about every feature that you could possibly want, with one exception. One of the main reasons I bought this particular player was for its DLNA capabilities. I have a DLNA media server that has around 400 h.264 movies and thousands of AAC songs and I was hoping that the BDP-S770 would be able to play them through DLNA streaming. This is not the case. At first I was just confused, the device showed all my pictures from the media server, but would not show or play any music or movies. After digging though the manual for a little bit I found a few very curious footnotes. The device only supports AAC and H.264 video through a direct connection! It cannot stream these formats from my media server, which is very disappointing. If you want a top of the line Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Blu-ray player .... then this is the device for you. Just dont expect it to live up to the hype when it comes to your DLNA media servers. Hopefully they will address this via a firmware update, which if they do, this would turn into a 5 star review. 45 of 50 people found the following review helpful. BDP-S770 Blu RAy Player Streaming Issues By D. Mcdermott Just got the newest Sony 3D BluRay player, BDP-S770. Really bought it so I could stream internet content to my HDTV. This new player has very quick startup and video quality of my Bluray disks when played on the S770 are much better than my S350. Internet hookup went well, but have one issue. I can not get Dolby 5.1 sound to stream when streaming HD movies that have Dolby 5.1. The test HD movie clip from Amazon video on demand has great video but the sound is PCM. I assumed that the player would stream Dolby 5.1 but it does not according to Sony. I get great Dolby 5.1 when playing disks but not when streaming via internet (ony get PCM sound), and I have a very fast Verizon FIOS 35 Mbps connection and I used Ethernet cable from my router to the Blu Ray S770. My S770 is connected to my surround sound amp via a digital cable (I also tried an optic cable with no luck). I called Sony and they said the S770 was not designed to stream Dolby 5.1 when streaming HD movies. Seems like a dumb design. I am considering returning the player since I bought it to replace my present practise of renting disks at Blockbuster. Without Dolby 5.1 sound, I am missing the surround sound experience unless I use disks. See all 43 customer reviews...

(March 2011) Step into the 3D World. Watch 3D movies at home with Full HD 3D technology with the SC-BTT370. FULL HD 3D Blu-ray Disc Playback Advanced 2D image technology accumulated over the years at the Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory (PHL) has also been applied to 3D image playback, allowing high quality images to approach original film quality. Lifelike 3D images with dramatic leaping effects and enhanced depth, luster and texture are beautifully reproduced. 3D Effect Controller The 3D Effect Controller lets you moderate the leaping effects of 3D images. It also lets you adjust the amount of depth, so you can view expansive images and enjoy movies with exactly the kind of 3D effects you want. 2D-3D Conversion The 2D-3D Conversion makes it possible to convert images from DVDs and Blu-ray Discs into 3D with natural depth perception. So you can watch your prized DVD movie collection in 3D with real-life depth, for even greater viewing enjoyment. The True to Cinema Picture Concept Panasonic has worked with Hollywood film studios at a laboratory that we have maintained in Hollywood over a long period of time to research image reproduction technologies. These activities have enabled us to accumulate the know-how necessary to faithfully reproduce original movie images on Blu-ray Discs. Now, we have applied these advanced 2D technologies directly to 3D movie reproduction, to achieve truly beautiful images with even more lifelike realism, depth and texture. Skype Video Messaging Quick access to the menu screen You can instantly access the Skype menu screen by simply pressing the Skype button on the remote control. This is very handy because it lets you easily access the menu screen even while you're watching a TV program or movie. Incoming Ringtones While watching a TV program or movie, a ringtone from the player tells you that you have a call. The ringtone also rings during standby mode. *The incoming call can not be received during Blu-ray Disc playback Auto Answering Video Message Record an original message onto an SD Memory Card* and set it as your answering voice message. The message will respond automatically when you receive a phone call while you're away. *Minimum 512MB SD card required *SD card not included Video Mail Recording Callers can also record messages for you onto the SD Memory Card, so you can confirm the messages when you return home. Cinema Surround Plus The Virtual Speakers created by Cinema Surround compensate for the lack of a surround effect to provide natural, smooth surround sound. Starting with the 2011 models, the same number of Virtual Speakers are arranged in the vertical direction as in the horizontal direction. This offers an enhanced surround effect not only horizontally but also vertically, so you can enjoy your favorite movies with a level of dynamic surround sound that you've never before experienced.*Rear speakers have wireless capability with the SH-FX71. Clear Sound Digital Amplifier The Clear Sound Digital Amplifier analyzes the difference between the input and output audio signals, and makes the necessary adjustments to produce an output signal with the same low distortion as the input signal. This results in sound that is highly faithful to the original sound source. Built-in Wi-Fi System A Wi-Fi system is built right into the main unit, so you can enjoy VIERA CAST and BD-Live content without having to connect the Blu-ray Disc player with a LAN cable or wireless LAN adaptor.*A wireless LAN environment is required. ARC (Audio Return Channel) The home theater system is compatible with the ARC (Audio Return Channel) feature. ARC makes it possible to receive audio signals from the TV, on top of the preexisting HDMI function of sending audio/video signals to the TV with just one cable. This feature simplifies connection by eliminating the audio cable connection between the TV audio output and the main unit's audio input.* ARC compatible TV is required. VIERA CAST VIERA CAST has been further enhanced with CinemaNow and VUDU, which allow you to stream movies. You can also access other content from the special VIERA CAST screen. And you can check weather and stock information on other sites. I have had previous good luck with Panasonic home theater systems so I waited buying an upgrade until this was released this year. And I'm glad I did. What a great product. I've had it for 2 weeks now and I'm really impressed with this system. I don't have a 3D television, I only use this system for Bluray discs. You do not have to own a 3D television to use this as a bluray system. I've shopped around for other home theater systems for a long time. I've gone to many electronics stores, Fry's, Best Buy, Target, but I was not impressed with any of the other brands out there. Sony, Samsung, LG, I truly believe this Panasonic system beats them all in terms of quality, sound, picture, and features. Likes: Viera Cast: Built-in ready to go WiFi for streaming netflix, vudu, and many other services. This thing will also do Skype! Down-firing subwoofer: Panasonic changed the subwoofer so it fires the bass into your floor, creating a theater-like boom and experience. And let me tell you, this subwoofer really rumbles my condo. The bass is deep, no distortion whatsoever even when I've cranked this system really loud. I'm really impressed with the design of the subwoofer. Whether you want to watch movies quietly or crank it up during an action-packed movie, the bass produced by this system is totally jaw-dropping. Cinema Surround Sound - The cinema surround sound feature you can turn on really increases the surround effect of movies, making this 5.1 system sound like a 7.1 system. I recommend turning the rear surround speakers up, you can customize every speaker and how loud you want them to be. You can even increase the bass output. The surround sound produced is clear, crisp, sounds excellent, and during actions scenes you don't even realize that it's the superb surround experience making your heart pound, not the movie. 2 HDMI Inputs & Optical In: The SC-BTT370 allows you to connect your xbox or ps3 or whatever has an HDMI source directly to the unit, so you don't have a ton of fussing and forgetting which system is hooked directly to your TV and what setting you are supposed to be on. I have my xbox directly connected to the surround sound system and it works flawlessly. Picture: The deep color and full 1080p picture renders beautifully. I am breathless when watching bluray movies on this system. The Netflix and VUDU streaming services are integrated nicely, and look stunning as well. I watched U-571 and Blawhawk Down last night, and I still couldn't believe how clear and beautiful the picture was. 3D Discs: I do not have a 3D television, and you do not need a 3D television to use this player. I have talked to many people who have bought this system, and they rave about the 3D capabilities and I believe it. They told me this play blows the PS3 out of the water in terms of 3D rendering and detail. Dislikes: None 18 of 21 people found the following review helpful. Great sound, but annoying software limitations By Los Angeles 1 First the positive: The sound that comes out of this little unit is amazing. The small size is just incredible, and the unit never gets hot. I was worried because this unit does not have a powered subwoofer, but the bass is very loud and leaves me very impressed and not wanting more. Also, the speaker grills are metal and durable (not cloth covers, like on previous models). I love the Vieracast internet accessible content. With my fast internet connection, the movies from Vudu load instantly and look almost better than my live FIOS HD picture. I also love the German news Vieracast app, I just wish they had more apps on the unit. Even the FM radio is better than expected. But there are some pretty annoying negatives: The problem with this unit is the software. Although the GUI looks very pretty, it has some severe limitations.

Developed in collaboration with Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory, this high image processing technology reproduces clear, vivid colors that are faithful to the original film. Panasonic's Blu-ray Disc players employ high precision 4:4:4 signal technology, which working in tandem with PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus processes each pixel of the Blu-ray Disc video signal in the horizontal direction to compliment vertical direction processing. P4HD (Pixel Precision Progressive Processing for HD) is another technology that contributes to the superior picture quality of the Blu-ray players. P4HD processes more than 15 billion pixels per second and applies the optimal processing to every pixel. Panasonic's Blu-ray Disc players further utilize 16-level motion detection to categorize the image motion of each pixel into one of 16 levels; diagonal processing to detect diagonals and correct the pixels accordingly; 1080p up-conversion to up-convert content recorded in the 480i/p or 720p format to 1080p. This Blu-ray Disc player also provides 1080/24p output, reproducing cinema images from a Blu-ray Disc and DVD in their original 24p form with no need for conversion--enabling you to enjoy cinema images in the same format used in cinema with a 1080/24p-compatible TV. Complimenting the HD audio codecs, the BD65 Blu-ray Disc player features 96kHz surround re-master, a function that enhances the sound quality of CDs and other sources, and even improves the quality of the multi-channel audio data on Blu-ray Discs and DVDs. Great Bang for your buck By A.M.Boughey UPDATE - July 2010 New features added to Network Tageschau - Daily News feed in German Pandora - Internet Radio Fox Sports - Coming Soon Twitter - Coming Soon 5 Stars sounds really generous, but for the money this is a GREAT Network ready BDP. This is the third network BDP I have set up and used, I recently reviewed the Samsung BD-P1590 - Blu-Ray disc player - upscaling - Netflix, Pandora against which (for similar money) this is a far superior machine. I also think the picture quality and upscaling for SD DVD's in much better than the similar priced LG BD 370 Network Blu-ray Disc Player Running several Blu-Ray movies for testing, including BD live enabled content, boot times were very fast. The quick set up guide asks you about this and explains that it uses more power in standby mode, but it's worth it for very quick loading. Blu Ray looks SUPERB - Panasonic web site says (PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus is a high quality image-processing technology developed to precisely process each pixel of the Blu-ray Disc video signal in the vertical direction) Sounds geeky, but the picture is great at both 1080i and 1080p. By default the 24fps is set to off, but if you have a home set up that supports it, it's easy to switch back. SD Card slot, and USB interface great for home pictures, movies and photo's, very easy to use. Nicely tucked away under a discreet panel in the front so no fiddling among the back wires. Out of the box set up for networking took me about 15 minutes. Very easy on screen instruction, easy to use remote, and set up can be either set to easy mode, or you can revisit the main menu at any time for finer adjustments on audio, video output, resolution and aspect ratio etc. The more involved set up options are however a little limited if you are used to close to pro tweaking on high end visual and audio equipment. But then again, this is an entry level kind of priced machine. What do you get for network? The VIERA system is a breeze, nice graphics, menu screen and options. I hard wired mine to the back Ethernet port with a Cat6 cable - Cat5 works without a problem, but for streaming (especially HD content) the Cat6 made the Netflix signal bar light up to HD most of the time. It is wireless ready. You can use a USB dongle (takes some tweaking) or better still a Linksys by Cisco Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming and Video Adapter. What's nice is that(unlike Samsung) you don't have to buy a special adapter. My preference would always be to hard line, but if that's not an option, and you must have wireless (assuming you have boat loads of bandwidth) you can buy an adapter, or pay $80 more and buy it's big brother the Panasonic DMP-BD85 WiFi Enabled Blu-Ray Disc Player (Black) Whats on the Network? 1)Netflix - unlimited free streaming movies (a lot in HD if your connection is good enough) documentaries, and TV shows from their "Watch Instantly" library, if you are a current subscriber of at least their $8.99 plan - free trial available. 2)Amazon on Demand - Bags of movies and content to rent, buy, or even view free webisodes, trailers, documentaries and so on. Not a huge thing for me personally as I like Netflix, but very nice to have. Simply activate online at Amazon and you're there - very easy on screen user friendly menus. 3)Blomberg - Sort of on screen RSS feed with stocks, bonds and news headlines. Nice to have but not essential. 4) Weather forecast, enter your zip code and set to default, or store multiple sites across the US for up to date weather news and information. Again, not something I need but nice to have. 5)Picasa Web albums - share pictures with friends and family, look at your own, and other albums on your TV. Nice feature. 6)You Tube - browse, or log into your account online 7)Coming Soon?? - Your guess is as good as mine, could be for VUDU or something else, at least they are

The only thing bad about this player is the remote control. The complaint you've heard about it being clunky is true. As far as the Blu-Ray player is concerned it can't be any better. The quality and speed is quick and precise. The complaints about the menu being confusing is just not so. It is on par with the sony and samsung players I have had. The quality and video streaming is quick and accurate. It has no problems holding the HD steam. The Roku Box I have does seem a tad quicker in locking on to the movie and starting the stream. But once the Vizio locks on I have no problems watching standard or HD movies on netflix. This player is definitely the best player for under $200.00. The base is deeper and the quality is cleaner compared to the Samsung BDP-1500 I had in the past. If you can put up with a clunky remote this player is definitely excellent quality. Highly recommended. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Great Apps By Martin Olsen This worked as advertised, easy to set up, took a few minutes. It has amazing apps, pictures from computer, my videos and movies come out perfectly 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. its great By Ezequiel Rivera I was going to hesitate, because its a vizio product, but this 3D player has to be the best in the market and price is great See all 15 customer reviews...

Works great with Samsung TV By AW I bought this adapter for my Samsung TV (PN50C6500) as a much cheaper alternative to the Samsung WiFi dongle (at $30 it's less than half the price of Samsung's) and it works perfectly. I literally just took it out of the box, plugged it into the USB port on the TV, followed the prompts on the screen to connect it to my network (I used the WiFi Protected Setup - WPS) and it worked seamlessly. I didn't plug it into my PC first or install the PC software that comes with it or do any configuration beforehand. There are two small things to think about that are relevant only for advanced users. The first is actually an issue with the TV and not the dongle but affects connectivity when using the two together. If your network password is long and contains special characters, it will not automatically connect to the network when you turn on the TV (you can manually enter the password each time and it connects just fine - but that's a bit annoying). The simple fix is to just have a shorter (6-7 character) password with only letters and numbers. When I did that, the TV connects to the network automatically every time. I say it's a problem with the TV only because when I use the adapter with my PC is has no problem connecting to the network with long and complicated passwords. The second very small comment I have is that the Rosewill PC interface is a bit complicated to use. On the positive side, it's very flexible and will allow you a large degree of customization but that might overwhelm the novice user. Of course, if you are just using it to connect your TV to your WiFi network it's irrelevant - you don't even need to install the software. I've used the Rosewill adapter for two months now and it does a good job of streaming video and other content from my server to my TV as well as accessing the Samsung Apps. For anyone looking to connect their Samsung TV to a wireless network, this is an excellent choice and a great value. 10 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Fantastic! By Michael J. Zdyber This product arrived 3 days earlier than expected. I'm using the RNX-N1 with my Samsung BD-C5500 BluRay Player. I plugged it in and went to network settings to adjust to wireless, and it works great! 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Works w/ computer, not Samsung A650 series compatible. By Michael Ecker Will not work or even be recognized by my 52" A650 series Samsung TV. Bummer considering I ordered it for that reason... but works well as a regular PC usb wifi adapter.
